Sometimes, Eman, one isn't paranoid--people really are out to get you. :)

Rhode Island's a tiny and generally liberal state, with a long history of religious tolerance. (Founded by the Puritan earl of Warwick, Robert Rich, who was a champion of relgious freedom and a bit of pirate. Ah! But you've read that book! :) )

Because of its religious tolerance, it has long had a significant and largely conservative Jewish population--it houses the first synagogue built in America. One of Rhode Island's most conservative Jews is my sister-in-law. (Happily, we haven't spoken in years.) She and her husband consistently vote Republican "because Bush will let Israel do whatever it wants." In this one and only instance, she is correct.

Ironic how tolerance gives home to intolerance.

Oh. Craig's back. I did my best for him while you guys slept. MMM will probably kill him with kindness.

And time for me to sleep. You have the watch.

Cheers

You know after writing the post I was like, was I a bit harsh? is it possible that I'm living one big conspiracy theory? lol, and then it turns out no, I'm not :D

BUT when it comes to religious significance of the city, it seems to be always limited to Jews, and Christians, completely ignoring Muslims.
=============
Ahem. [sound of throat clearing]

Eman, Monopoly is owned by Parker Brothers, which is owned by Hasbro, which is owned by the Hassenfeld family of Rhode Island, who are devout Jews. You might wish to write them and ask if they've omitted reference to Islam in Jerusalem as a matter of faith or of ignorance.

Hi there Andrea,
What happened with you is so normal. Voting starts in 7 days, so u can't vote now. But you can nominate, BUT the city you nominated will not show on the list unless it gets nominated from many people. Because only the most nominated cities will make it.
That's why I didn't nominate any new city at first, because there are only few days left and I'm not sure if it's not too late, but after Khaled did nominate Tunis, I was like, what the heck, why not give it a try!

So don't worry and let's hope Tunis will get enough nominations :) And thanks dear!
