Dust Is In The Air

Filed under: Just Personal — Eman at 2:32 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2008

After a week of cold weather that brought us wind and occasional rain showers, a couple of really hot sunny days followed, and today, we woke up to watch the streets, cars, and buildings covered with one fat layer of sand. It’s a bit cooler than the last couple of days, but the problem is, the air smells like dust. I hate that!
The atmosphere feels so dirty!

Can’t wait for it to hopefully rain again and have some refreshing weather that fills your lungs with “relatively” clean air…

Almost the same thing is happening here in Jordan. It sucks really! You can’t breathe well, everything is dusty and dirty. Hopefully it’ll go away soon! :)

South Florida’s entered the rainy season about a month early. Grass is soaring in the yards of the many homes abandoned because of the sub-prime mortgage debacle and the continuing election year crack down on illegal immigrants. (The latter has left our street sadly devoid of school-aged children. Our dog looks sadly through the fence, waiting for absent playmates, now back in places like Brazil, Mexico and El Salvador.) Recommendations to local authorities that goats be brought in to trim the grass, roaming the quiet streets, have been ignored.

Though the afternoon deluges–worthy of a monsoon–should inspire me to have the roof repaired, will try to wait until after this year’s hurricane season ends in hopes that house will have been destroyed and a new one built from the windstorm insurance proceeds–assuming that the insurance companies themselves aren’t wiped out by either a tidal wave of claims or the spreading financial crises.

Cheers.

J.

anonyme17,
oh thank God no plane crashed, you got me really worried :) But today’s weather is a lot better, thank God!

Jasim, so you’re suffering the same too, I really hate it! but today the weather is a bit better in terms of dust, less dust, more sun, but too damn hot as if we’re in July!

Janissary, i just love reading your comments :) I feel as if I know your neighborhood and how your house looks like and everything :)
I hope your wishes come true, but I also pray that you and your family will see no harm and will never get hurt.
take care from the hurricane season my friend!
