Yasmeen Ayyashi: Exploring the form or formlessness of an identity

Filed under: Arab Societies, Art & Literature, Jordan, Women — Eman at 8:30 am on Tuesday, April 21, 2009

It’s really cool to see talented people in the Arab world actually getting the chance to show their abilities and apply their ideas in real life. And what’s even cooler, is when these talents are being invested in transforming  old or abandoned sites, which are of no use whatsoever -and which are really ugly in most cases- into an original artwork, conveying a message of creativity, talent, ambition and artistic passion.

Yasmeen Ayyashi is one of these impressive talents; and her solo exhibition is a great example of what I’m talking about, as she’s actually transformed an abandoned factory to an art installation… I think such efforts should not go unnoticed, that’s why I urge all art-loving, talent-encouraging individuals in Amman to show some support and visit Yasmeen’s exhibition.

The opening will be on Wednesday, April 29th, at 7:00 PM, in the abandoned factory, and it will continue until May 8th.

Don’t miss it!

Basma, thanks for pointing this out :) hope you enjoyed your time.

Yasmeen, no need to thank me dear, and by the way, a girl who transformed an abandoned factory should never feel afraid of anything :) hope all went well, I really wish I was in Amman to attend but well, might be able to make it on your next art work :)
