Facebook Bans The Word “Palestinian”

UPDATE: Facebook no longer bans “Palestinian” when creating pages, tried, and confirmed. Read more (in Arabic).

Ok, apparently Facebook has banned the word “Palestinian”, so you can’t create pages with “this word” anymore, and I say anymore because before that, there was no problem and many groups and pages containing the word “Palestinian” were created peacefully and problem-free.

This is stupid and racist, how do I feel? outraged, will I still use Facebook? well, let’s see; would I simply encourage anyone-especially the racists- to ignore my existence and help them limit my choice of using things I like? would I simply give in to their desire to wipe ‘me’ off the virtual world (just as they’re continuously trying to wipe ‘me’ off the face of this living planet)? the answer is a strong NO, I wont go away, I exist, and they can ban whatever they want, they can block whoever they like, they can deny me the right to use “words” in creating “pages”, but I will always be there, and so will my spirit… it will take much more than that to erase the existence of a “Palestinian”, because Palestinian is not a word, it’s an identity, it’s a history, it’s a culture and a persistent mentality that will prove its existence despite all racist attempts.
