About

Welcome to AquaCool…

The personal blog of Eman Abukhadra; an interpreter, translator, editor and writer at heart.
Identity: Arab
Blood Type: Palestinian
Nationality: Jordanian Canadian.

I was introduced to the blogosphere by my husband, who encouraged me to start my own blog, thus AquaCool was born, to soon become my little personal space where I can reflect on everything I find interesting or worth sharing, whether personal or non-personal, in this big big world.

Since a very young age, I’ve been fascinated with languages and translation, thanks to my parents’  library of extremely diverse books, many of which were translations into Arabic.
I love poetry, especially Arabic poetry, and I’m pro-rhyme all the way.

Born in Kuwait, I lived in the Middle East most of my life before moving to North Africa (Tunisia, where I learned a bit of French), and finally settling in Canada.
I’m highly interested in dialects and often find myself studying them, subconsciously trying to find similarities and identify differences, how they were formed, and what led to the variations in accents.
I love writing, reading, traveling, sports, cooking, baking, and devouring good food in general. A tea lover and a coffee addict (yes our kind exists).

In my blog I write mainly in English and Arabic, with occasional German posts. The beautiful land of Palestine is at the centre of my writings, and how can it not be, when it’s running through my veins. I also write about books, politics, human rights, the environment, my personal life and everything in between.

AquaCool was hacked multiple times, many of my postings were lost in the process, but I always try my best to keep writing.

You can also follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Goodreads.
